In Joensuu, sacramental preparation is offered each year for children and youth who are preparing to receive First Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Children preparing for First Communion learn the basics of the Catholic faith and the meaning of the Eucharist.
Youth preparing for Confirmation deepen their faith and prepare to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through the hands of the bishop.
The purpose of the instruction is to support their growth in faith and to help them understand the meaning of the sacraments in their own lives.
Note:
Participation in Holy Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation is an essential part of preparing for these sacraments.
